Thanks for volunteering. I'm forwarding your email to the list so that
both the staff team and the hardware team can take good note of it.

It's nice of you to offer to use your zoom to record audio. We have been
using zooms recorder in some rooms in the past but I'm afraid the files
where never used: although they certainly have a better quality than the
audio track from the camera, it's just too much work too much work to
sync the audio and the video for each talk.

To digress a bit on this, one thing that makes a big difference and
doesn't cost anything is if the speaker is using the microphone. So the
first thing to do to improve sound quality would be to insist that the
speakers use the available mic and not present it as an option. And if
the room host forgets, the cameramen should not hesitate to ask the
speaker to use it.
