Is there a list over cheap hotels and hostels within walking

We had this [1] page last year with the info you are looking for. We
definitely want to have a similar
resource this year, I guess its mostly a matter of checking that the
info is still valid then its more or less a matter of copy the info
into our *new* site, thanks for bringing this up.

Perfect!

Consider Hotel Eklanda checked to be valid. :)

Which (how many) days will FSCONS take place -- only saturday
and sunday, or also some program on friday evening?

The dates for the conference this year (as stated on the
website) are October 31-November 02, thus we will have a
program in Friday. Traditionally we have had workshops and a
social welcoming event on Friday evening (I know there will be
a social event on Friday evening this year). For more details I
would suggest to either contact the program committee or wait
until we have published a final schedule, something that should
happen in a not to distant future.

suggest to have some "real" program on friday evening, so as
to spread things out a little bit, otherwise saturday and
sunday feels very compact or compressed :)

This is new feeback.

The video feed later helps to make one feel that one doesn't
lose parallel sections. :)
Anyway, I like three days rather than two.
I remember one year it was four days -- I believe Stallman
was there on thursday + 1-2 workshops.

Thomas
