Hi guys!

Last weeks have been quite crazy and I'm still in spain dealing with the fallout from some things that have happened in my family so no FSCONS for me :(

Last year I was helping on the bar and the video team and before that I used to be theresponsible of the hardware team. In this mail I'm sharing a bit of experience in the hopes it helps with the organization of FSCONS.

For the bar:

* Hopefully you'll be using the same machine and ubuntu image as other years, if that's the case be warned some of the USB ports work a bit strange but once you plug them right all should work.

* If that's not the case you'll need to create two printers, one for tickets and one for end of day reports. You'll need to play with the scaling to get them to work.

* Make sure you input the new prices on Friday if you can as mornings can be a bit hectic even with breakfasts.

For Bob (or the video team):

* Prioritize whole stretches over individual talks when planning timetables as talks may begin a bit earlier or later than expected.

* Ensure you have somebody with experience available to solve the issues that may arise during recording, as the talks start go by all the rooms to ensure the recording was started as it should.

* Format the SD cards before using them with the camera that will use them! If you can also check them for bad sectors.

* There are 32 GB and 16 GB SD cards, take that into account when planning the recordings. We used the 32 GB ones in the mroning and the 16 GB ones on the afternoons if no 32 GB was available.

* There were 3 cameras and 2 sound recorders (again something to plan for).
