August 2020 social meeting minutes notes

Introductions:
This time in addition to the board members, Olle (involved with Cyckelköket) and Victor (Masterstudent at Chalmers) joined the meeting.

Round-table discussions.
*Mozilla Layoffs
We had some discussions about the recent Mozilla layoffs where some expressed concerns about that so many talented people had been let go which some argued could potentially hinder Mozilla's ability to spearhead important projects and in general hinder the foundation to make progress and develop influential products, others did not agree...

*Music Services
The parties then discussed the use of online music streaming services. Concerns was expressed about Spotify's use of closed source API's and proprietary technology.

*2020 Working plan
Oliver presented a suggestion for a 2020 working plan which was discussed and the participants gave feedback on. There was a general agreement that that the association in 2020 should try to:

* Arrange a Miniconf during 2020 together with Cyckelköket
* Set a date for the yearly meeting
* Continue with social meet ups and promotion activities

There was a shared agreement that the association should have an optimistic view on the future and do the best efforts possible in order to try to spread knowledge about Free Software and live up to the association manifesto [0].

The meeting concluded with social niceties and drinks. There is likely no overstatement that the parties enjoyed themselves and the meeting.

Action items:
* Try to arrange a Miniconf during 2020 together with Cyckelköket.
* Set a date for the yearly meeting.
* Continue with social meet-ups and promotion activities. 
* Rock the free software world.

During the meeting we discussed among other things constructive things the association could do during 2020.

We also had just as last time round-table discussion which this time was focused on the Mozilla Layoffs and Online Music streaming services.

Action items for the meeting included but was not limited to:

* Set a date for the yearly meeting.
* Make love not war.
* Continue with social meet-ups.

I don't think there is an overstatement that there was a good nice atmosphere during the meeting. Not least was it nice that two new persons, Viktor och Olle made it to the meeting.

Sorry for the confusion but the proper suggestion is actually for the meeting to take place on *Wednesday  

August the 26th (that is next-week).
