Hi

I’ll unpublish it. We should accommodate these requests,

Can you explain why?

as they are made in good faith.

Unless there is a contract anywhere stating FSCONS has become the owner of the rights to these talks.

It's not about ownership or copyright, it is about contract / permission (they agreed to video recording and publishing when they agreed to talk at the conference), and about public interest and access.

I also suggest that FSCONS create a non-public archive for not-published or unpublished material. I don't know if Youtube offers such a service, but Vimeo does.

Sure, it is a request, and he most likely means to have it unpublished
from the open web and search engines. I do, however, disagree with you
on that it shouldn't be done as requested. But by all means discuss it.

I don't think he has a right to make such a demand. He may request it,
and we may answer no. Which is what I think we should do, in most cases.

A public and published talk is not the speaker's private property any
more, and should not be treated as such. He has given us the right to
publish it, as part of a voluntary exchange where he got the opportunity
to use our venue/speak to our crowd.

Why does he want it removed? Is there any privacy issues or danger for
him if it remains available? If so, we can unpublish it from the open
web and search engines, but keep it available internally.

But definitely not remove anything for no reason.

Hello,

Apologies for the sudden contact, I was a participant and speaker at
the FSCONS conference back in 2015.

The talk is on
youtube, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuYwTbGRj_E&t=331s
but I wonder if it was possible to remove it - for privacy reasons?

Hope this is no problem, let me know!

Best wishes

Raphael
