I remember "accessibility" was suggested last year or the one before
that (we then decided not to have a theme) But it was more in the focus
then than it is now probably.

Those sound a bit too specific to serve as a theme for the whole
conference, they are more suited for independent tracks (we were
actually discussing having a language technology track this year, if you
are interested.)

I kind of like crowd. It could actually even be connected to "swarm
intelligence" but also to other questions like "crowdsourcing" and
"crowdfunding" (which seem relevant to FOSS,) the mining of
"crowd-generated" data, participating democracye, etc

On the other hand, having just one common word as a theme sounds a bit
too large and maybe we should build a phrase around it, like "creative
crowd", "connected crowd" (or "connected crowds" plural to make it sound
more diverse.)

We could make it cryptic, like the ccc mottos. "Connected crowd" could
become "the anthill and the wifi" :-D

Jokes apart, we did say that the theme should not be a constraint for
the track organizers but I don't recall us deciding what it should be
used for? Is it supposed to be included in the visual theme? should it
guide the choice of keynote speakers?
