I am back in town on Tuesday so perhaps it is possible to move it to another day in the week.

Of course, some times I mix-up the dates, my suggestion is 18/11.
Have a great evening

Ok, since no one have come up with any suggestion yet I propose Monday 11/11, or is that to soon?
I guess that it would be a good idea to reserve more time for this meeting then we have for our usual
work-meetings. If start our meeting at 17.30 instead of 18.00 would that be a good idea ?

OK, I guess we'll wait for the encoding. Thanks for explaining,
both.

I'm afraid you don''t know how big the recoding job will be, since my DSLR Canon 650D camera was used when we run out of FSCONS cameras and it can either be used in some 640x480 crappy solution or maximum (1920x1080, 25fps in 1080p full HD) so it spits out MOV files, they are about 16GB per 45 minutes so it added 29GB for the first day and 129GB to the 2nd day. The other 3 cameras spits out mts files that are about 50GB per day and then there are some sound files too so it lands at around 269GB. I am not too sure our visitors wants to download so huge files, it would take them some time..

BTW: We are not filming in RAW, my camera is supposed to handle it, but it seems my class 10 SD cards are not fast enough, but it is supposed to be close to 4K quality and a RED one spits out 120GB to a SSD in 30 minutes so not sure I want to enable raw mode in the magiclatern firmware on my 650D camera.

I usually cut in kdenlive on a laptop and prefer to just take a few minutes because 7 minutes takes atleast 1h to transcode so it is sort of tedious unless you have a high end desktop with a lots of ram, great graphical card and really fast discs.

I think that one of the most important action items is how we are
handling the video post-processing. I would really like if we could get
this done asap, (especially for Karen's keynote) as I think that it would
provide excellent promotions for FSCONS, it would be great if the hardware
team could come with feedback on this.

I agree. A lot of people mentioned this during the weekend, and I think
it's important to catch the "I went to lecture A, but I really would have
liked to attend the lecture B (and C) that was at the same time"-wave.

As we discussed many times, it is usually not the hardware team but me
who encode the video. I'm hoping to get it done before the end of the year
(not that I would mind if someone else is eager to do it :-D)

Yes, I know encoding and editing is a big job. But is it possible, as a
temporary solution, to just dump all the raw files in a big FTP archive,
and link to this from the schedule pages? Perhaps also mention the FTP
archive in a news mailing to participants.
